Speaking My Truth: Reflections on Reconciliation and Residential Schools
Featuring editors Shelagh Rogers and Mike DeGagné

Alternator Gallery, Kelowna
Tuesday, July 24— 7 pm

Veteran broadcast journalist and host of The Next Chapter on CBC Radio, Shelagh Rogers, and Aboriginal Healing Foundation executive director Mike DeGagné come to Kelowna to launch Speaking My Truth: Reflections on Reconciliation and Residential Schools.

Edited by Rogers, DeGagné, and Jonathan Dewar, this volume is distilled from the Aboriginal Healing Foundation’s three-volume series Truth and Reconciliation. These texts reflect upon the lived and living experiences and legacies of residential schools and, more broadly, reconciliation in Canada. Speaking My Truth: Reflections on Reconciliation and Residential Schools is now available. English, French and Inuktitut versions can be ordered directly from www.speakingmytruth.ca, free of charge.| Go to http://podcast.cbc.ca/mp3/podcasts/nextchapter_20120604_21838.mp3 to download Shelagh Rogers’ CBC interview with Mike DeGagné, broadcast June 4, 2012 on her program “The Next Chapter.”

This event is free and open to the public: Sponsored by the Aboriginal Healing Foundation and the Centre for innovation in Culture and the Arts in Canada.
